Durable Power of an Attorney:

A Durable power of Attorney is a person whom you authorize to act on behalf you on specified matters such as the health care, property, etc. in the event of your incapacity due to illness.

Durable Power of an Attorney for Health Care:

You can appoint a durable power of attorney for your health care to take decisions for your treatment on behalf of you, if you become incapacitated due to illness. But the person whom you appoint must be the person whom you trust and have confidence.

Durable Power of an Attorney for Property:

You can authorize a durable power of attorney for your estate to take decisions regarding financial and administration matters in the event of your incapacity due to illness.

The advantage of appointing a durable power of attorney is to prevent the court from intervening in these matters as to the appointment of any person to take control over the affairs of the estate and also provides to make immediate decisions without delay.
