Modification of Child Support Order:

Suppose if your income has suddenly become low or if you lose your job, in those situations you may not be in a position to pay the whole of the amount. You have to file a petition before the court stating the reasons for such a modification. The court shall consider all the circumstances and it may ask you not to pay such support until you get the job or to pay a partial amount until you receive a higher payment.

• If your child dies,
• If your child joins in any of the armed forces,
• If your child becomes self supporting of his/her needs.

• The custodian parent or the parent who receives the money need not pay the federal income tax and the payment is considered as a tax free income.
